The Career day is an indispensable part of the Euroculture IP programme and aims to show students what life will be like after graduation. Since having a good notion of the profession is one of the preconditions to choose a good job, the overall goal of this half-day programme is to acquaint students with a variety of professions which Euroculture alumni may head for, and thus help them overcome the gap between theory and practice, between classroom and work life.
This year, the IP coordinators in Krakow have joined forces with the Euroculturer social media team, a student- run project of the Euroculture programme, to bring together students, alumni, and dynamic experts in different professional fields to design and deliver the Career Day. During the programme, we will organize 4 different panels, each related to a specific sector of work. Our guests – professionals in various fields and many Eurouculture alumni amongst them – will share with students their work experience and personal trajectories during 3 rounds of panel sessions. In this way, every student can take part in three different panels out of the four.
Each panel is made up of 4 people and is moderated by a member of the social media team of the Euroculturer Magazine or 2nd year Euroculture student.
There are 3 ‘timeslots’ for the sessions, and each timeslot will be for a different group of students (approx. 20 students per timeslot). That means that the panel will ‘run’ 3 times for 3 different groups of students.
Schedule: Thursday, June 30th , 2022

Ah yes, this is the alluring one, where everyone seems very professional, smartly dressed, uses corpo-speak and is rolling the dough, right? Time to find out more! What kind of professions need the soft skills honed in Euroculture? What is the start-up scene like (and what is a start-up in the first place)?! Is it really as intense and fast-paced as everyone says? Can business be fun?! Tune in and hear for yourself!

Hmm, the hipster, laid-back, but sometime razzle dazzle type of professional field isn’t it?! Or the rather precarious but we love it and don’t do it for the money sector? What kinds of jobs are out there for Euro-culture graduates? Find out what these passionate Euroculture alumni and one top Krakow cultural figure have to say about life in the cultural lane.
Speakers:
Robert Piaskowski | Laura Welzenbach | Albert Mejer | Ana Benavides | Simon de Leeuw |

This is the panel where everyone speaks French, right?! Just kidding, we know those days are long behind the diplomatic field (or maybe not?!). What does it mean to work in a big international organisation, or be in charge of the international relations for one? How accountable (and responsible!) do you need to be to work for government? What does an attaché actually do? What is it like inside a UN body? Come to this panel and find out more!
Speakers:
Maria Ananchekova | Gérald Fierens | Dorottya Kósa |

This is the right panel to go to if you want to be an eternal student, right?! Well, not exactly, although not always untrue. Is doing a PhD an exciting enterprise, or rather a lonely road? What is it like once you finish your dissertation, and you want to get a job at a university? When do you get to be called a professor? What can you do at a university if you are not a researcher? What about research and education outside of the university? All this and more questions (because it’s never about the answers, but the critical questions, right!?) will be discussed, dissected and probably theorised at this panel.
